About Medulin, Premantura, Banjole, Pješčana Uvala, Pomer, Vinkuran...
Medulin: Once a fishing village, today a modern tourist resort, Medulin offers a dynamic and eventful vacation. Everything is focussed on tourism. There is a bank in town that works all year round, as well as ATMs, post office, doctors' offices, pharmacy, marketplace, car wash, stores, souvenir shops, jewelry shops, hairdressers and galleries. A wide variety of entertainment is offered, ranging from discotheques open until morning to terraces with live music. more
Premantura: Premantura is surrounded by nature not many places can boast of. South of the town is Cape Kamenjak – a protected landscape 9.5 km long, 1.5 km wide, with altogether 30 km of indented coastline. No place in the world is the sea so blue-green, so clean as here at the southernmost tip of Istria. There are plenty of rocky beaches, as well as pebbly coves. On a relatively small area there are 530 plant species and among them 20 orchid species, some of which are endemic. For this reason there are no campsites on this cape, hotels or any other type of structures.
Banjole: The locals have always been turned towards the sea and fishing. For this reason, even today, we find here the best seafood restaurants. A well-known fact is that the best fish is prepared by fishermen themselves, but if you want to prepare seafood dishes then head to the small harbor at daybreak, wait for the fishermen to return from sea and buy the freshly caught fish. If you have found accommodation at a fisherman's home, perhaps you can join him on such an unforgettable experience at sea.
Pješčana Uvala: Moving away from the city and turning towards the sea, over the last thirty years, the inhabitants of nearby Pula have built a modern settlement in Pješcana Uvala, with private houses and family-run hotels. This bay boasts numerous restaurants, two of which are the leading ones in Croatia. They have been included in all gastronomic guides and have received the most prestigious tourist awards. Pješcana Uvala offers a true gastronomic experience.
Pomer: Once a mussel farm, today famed for its marina, Pomer lies in a well-protected part of Medulin Bay. The marina provides 250 berths and 50 boat places on land, together with all necessary facilities. Not far from the marina, at the very seaside surrounded by pine trees stretches the newly renovated campsite with its own football field and volleyball court. There is also private accommodation in apartments and rooms.
Vinkuran: Isolated from the tourist crowds, yet just a few kilometers from the tourist centers, lies the fishing village Vinkuran. The private apartments above Vinkuran Bay and Soline Cove guarantee a pleasant and peaceful vacation. Vinkuran has a sheltered beach along pine trees. It is ideal for nature lovers who enjoy peace and quiet. There is a store, restaurant and café in the village. Today, during the summer months an art colony for sculptors is held in the quarry.
