Cycling trails: Baška grapa
Baška grapa is a 30-km long valley of the Bača River, which is carved deeply between the peaks of the Alpine edge.
Description: Most na Soči - Kneža - Podbrdo.
Bicycling along the main road and throughout Baška grapa we follow the picturesque Bohinj railway all the way to the tunnel that first connected these lands with Gorenjska in 1906.
We can travel one way by train or car train.
Natural bathing areas
The lake itself, however, is hardly popular with bathers, who during hot summer days prefer to enjoy themselves along the banks and gravel sections of rivers:
Podbela and Kred by the Nadiža River,
pebble banks from Kobarid to Tolmin on the Soča River, and
Slap ob Idrijci and Bača pri Modreju on the Idrijca River.
Fun fact: Fishing
is the most popular tourist activity in the region; the local fishing association manages over 145 km of waterways, with navigation allowed only on the Soča. All other rivers - Nadiža, Tolminka, Bača, Kneža, Koritnica, Idrijca and Trebuščica - are reserved exclusively for anglers.
